4-H Camp Update

Bullitt County 4-H Campers, Teens and Adult Leaders-

I wanted to let everyone know that as of right now the traditional 10 week 4-H Camping Season has been suspended. There is a hope that by ‪July 1 we can revisit a possible shortened camping session with a reduced cost.  However, this is not guaranteed as we will need to follow current government, university and CDC restrictions on gatherings and social distancing.  A final decision about the viability of this alternative camping scheduled will be shared with 4-H staff by 4-H administration ‪on May 8.  For those that can, I ask that you allow us this extra time to make the best informed decision possible while accounting for the needs of our program and the safety of our 4-H'ers.

I am in the process of contacting campers and youth that applied to be counselors, will hold their applications and a current refund can be issued to campers, if requested. I am sure those monies would be very helpful to families right now. I know that we are disappointed, but it is imperative that we keep our youth safe and well. It was a hard decision made by our UK and 4-H State Leaders and one not lightly made. I know that as a group, no matter the outcome of this summer, we will come together to provide programming for our youth when it is humanly possible to do so. Until then, be safe and be well. If you have any questions please contact Samantha Gamblin at sjeff2@uky.edu.
